The City of Providence Parks Department is seeking a qualified beverage vendor to provide mobile beverage service during seasonal programming at the Providence Rink. This opportunity supports recurring weekly leagues, public skating events, and special event activations in a high-traffic downtown location.

City Center Rink – Seasonal Programming

The City of Providence Parks Department is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide beverage service during seasonal programming at the Providence Rink (City Center Rink).

The selected vendor will operate a mobile beverage setup during scheduled programming, serving league participants, event attendees, and the general public within a controlled and permitted footprint.

PROGRAMMING CONTEXT

The Providence Rink operates as a multi-use seasonal facility in the downtown core, hosting a mix of structured programming and public events.

 

Programming includes:
Adult recreational leagues (Monday–Thursday evenings)
“Rink Sessions” Friday night roller skating series
Saturday special events and activations

Weekly participation averages approximately 350+ registered league participants, with additional public attendance during events.

Services

SCOPE OF SERVICES

The selected vendor will:
  • Provide mobile beverage service (cart, portable bar, or similar setup)
  • Operate within the designated rink footprint
  • Serve beverages during scheduled programming hours
  • Supply all necessary equipment, staffing, and materials
  • Manage all sales transactions independently

SEASONAL STRUCTURE

 

    • The program is organized into seasonal operating periods:

      • Spring Season: May – June (approx. 8 weeks)
      • Summer Season: July – August (approx. 8–10 weeks)
      • Fall Season: September – October (approx. 8 weeks)

      Vendors may be selected for one or multiple seasons.

BEVERAGE SERVICE REQUIREMENTS

  • Class P
  • Canned beverages are strongly preferred
  • No glass containers permitted
  • Product offerings may include beer, wine, and ready-to-drink beverages (RTDs), subject to approval
  • Service must remain within designated areas of the rink footprint

LICENSING & COMPLIANCE

Vendors must:

  • Hold or be eligible to obtain a Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation Class P Caterer’s License
  • Conduct ID verification and comply with all alcohol service regulations
  • Provide proof of insurance, including a Certificate of Insurance naming the City of Providence as additionally insured
  • Adhere to all City of Providence permitting and operational requirements
